The MMMF would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who supported us throughout 2023.

Our JustGiving campaign, the MMMF Stretford Enders Reunion at the Nags Head, and the magnificently successful Gala Dinner were supported on an unprecedented level.

We are all voluntary unpaid members who love United and many of us hardly miss a match anywhere in the world. We are delighted that the club we love has offered the MMMF unconditional support, for which we are proud and very grateful ❤️

The MMMF’s prime objective is to preserve and enhance the legacy of the Busby Babes. In February a plaque was presented to the Metropol Hotel in Belgrade, in memory of the Busby Babes who stayed there after the match against Red Star and left for Munich on the 6th of February 1958.

The 65th memorial service in Munich, as always, was led by the MMMF and was attended by huge numbers of United supporters. Big thanks to Bryan Robson who represented Manchester United and to Munich for their never-ending help at Manchesterplatz.

The MMMF, through one of its members, created a life-size Munich Memorial stone. This is currently on display at the Railway Club on Chester Rd. If you haven’t been to Manchesterplatz in Munich, then this replica is well worth viewing and helps us further preserve the legacy of the Busby Babes.

The MMMF are proud to have added Francis House to our existing charities and in a few weeks they and our other five charities will receive substantial donations to help them support children at the hospices and other organisations they represent. Our honorary President, Brian Kidd will again visit our UK charities to give them further support.

We are delighted to announce that in 2023 we have raised a record £50,719. MMMF expenses involving the replica Memorial stone and numerous other items totalled £1270, this cost was met in full by donations from current MMMF members, this meant charity money would not be affected. This was a fantastic team effort by all at the Manchester Munich Memorial Foundation.

2023 also saw us lose the last of the Busby Babes from the Munich tragedy, R.I.P Sir Bobby, you will never be forgotten💔

We would like to wish everybody good health and happiness in 2024.

Ifty Ahmed (on behalf of all the MMMF trustees and members)
