Armistice Day, also known as Remembrance Day, is a solemn occasion observed on November 11th each year to honour and remember the sacrifices of the armed forces during World War I and subsequent conflicts.
It holds a special significance for Manchester United and their iconic “Busby Babes” team. On February 6, 1958, tragedy struck as their plane crashed in Munich while returning from a European Cup match. Several players lost their lives, and this day remains etched in the club’s history.
The MMMF pays tribute to both Armistice Day and the Busby Babes, reminding us of the importance of never forgetting those who gave their lives in the pursuit of peace and success.
