There will be a Fan’s Remembrance Event at the Manchesterplatz Memorial on Feb 6th 2026. This event is organised and led by the MMMF. The event takes place outside in the open air. It is not necessary to pre-book. Please just turn up, be respectful and remember those who lost their lives in the tragic accident. Agenda is as follows (timings are approximate and are shown in Germany timezone)
2:35PM: Event starts
– Introductory words from the MMMF
– MMMF Fans Reps will read out the names of the 23 victims
2:55PM: Poem will be read out by a member of the Manchester United Foundation
3:04PM: A 2 minute silence followed by a few words from a United club legend
3:15PM: Wreath laying:
– MMMF, MUFC, AFMUP, MU Foundation and Supporters Clubs from around the world will lay wreaths.
– A bagpiper will play
3:30PM: Crowd participation
3:40PM: Event ends
A Polite Request From The MMMF
We would like to acknowledge the fantastic work by the Red Docs of Munich, and the residents of Manchesterplatz, for all their work to keep the memorial site clean and tidy throughout the year. Let’s show our gratitude by leaving the area as clean and tidy as we found it.
We are expecting a very large turnout for this alcohol-free service. Officials from Munich often say they are astonished at the number of United fans attending the service every year, and the good behaviour and respect that we show to Munich. We hope to show them that same respect in a few weeks time.
We have a small stage and two microphones/speakers in place so that everybody can see and hear the service clearly.
