The MMMF has selected a children’s charity in Manchester to support, following an inspiring presentation to us by one of its Senior Project Workers, Carly Lyes. It is the Depaul charity for homeless children in Manchester. Carly told us:

“To all at the Manchester Munich Memorial Fund – Thank you so much for inviting me to your board meeting last week and for agreeing to our proposal of a £1,000 donation to enable us to start a grant scheme for the young people experiencing homelessness who we support to move from our temporary accommodation to their own independent home.

Depaul will use the money to make 10 x £100 grants to our young people to assist moving into their own accommodation, but do not have any money for the essential furniture and fittings that make an empty flat into a home.

This funding would be a great help to these young people in setting up their new accommodation, helping them to rebuild their lives and make a fresh start.”

Anna Couper, Community Fundraising Manager also added:

“To mirror what Carly has said, thank you so much for considering us for your donation and for your time to hear about our work and the amazing staff who are supporting young people in Manchester like Carly”.

More about the Depaul organisation and what they do can be found here: https://uk.depaulcharity.org

The MMMF are thrilled to have found such a worthy cause to support with a donation on behalf of all MUFC fans.
