The Majestic Hotel in Belgrade hosted United on the night of their last match, played at the JNA stadium. The hotel has long been an important staging post on United fans’ pilgrimages and we commissioned a plaque to commemorate both our lost team and the warm welcome afforded Reds past and present.
The main tea and dining rooms at the hotel have hardly changed since 1958 and there are many photos in their hall of fame of the grand gala dinner held for the teams on the 5th February 1958.
Our good friend and manager of the hotel, Boza Puaca, has sent us these pictures of the plaque presented to him last year, in the presence of the ambassador and representatives of Red Star & Partizan Belgrade.
It is now in pride of place in their newly renovated reception and we encourage all supporters to visit when travel restrictions are lifted.
